Club Holiday 2003 to the red
Sea
This years club holiday was to the Red Sea onboard the motor yacht
Cyclone,
the group of 18 was made of club members, former club members, friends and
diving colleagues. The week started out from Sharm El Sheikh on the Sinai
Peninsular sailing west to dive the wrecks and reefs around the Gulf of Suez.
The later part of the week saw a change in direction to return via Ras Mohamed
and Yolande to head up the Gulf of Aqaba to the Straits of Tiran where we
dived the wreck of the Million Hope and spent some time on the reefs of
Thomas,Jackson, Gordon Woodhouse. Most divers managed around 15 to 18 dives
during the week which ranged from 30 mtr wreck dives to just a few metres
on the reefs with most types of marine life encountered at some stage. The
diving was done in the main from the boats RIB with some dives being done
from the back of the Cyclone. The end of the week saw us leave the boat and
spend a night in a local hotel and some souvenir shopping on the last day.
We left for the airport Sunday evening to be greeted by a long flight delay
and a late arrival home.
