Lowestoft Branch

The present Lowestoft Sub-Aqua Club was established in 1977 and is a recognised branch (No 671) of the British Sub-Aqua Club which is the governing body for the sport of scuba diving in the United Kingdom.

The club has dived at various locations around the British Isles and many of its members have dived notable dive locations around the world. During the summer months we regularly dive off our own coastline (which can be some of the harshest yet most rewarding diving for developing individual skills and stamina), annually we arrange a club holiday to a mutually agreeable location. Weekend diving trips are also a feature of club activities.

We currently have 47 members, of which seven are qualified BSAC instructors.

The club is run by committee, which is democratically elected at the annual general meeting, normally held during November. Dry meetings are held at regular intervals throughout the year. Wet meetings are every week at Water Lane Leisure Centre during the winter months and at Beccles outdoor pool during the summer.

The club structure for 2007/2008 is:

Chairman Mark Creamer
Diving Officer Di Cook
Assistant Diving Officer Simon Boor
Secretary (membership/general)       Gary Knights
Training Officer Alex Liddon
Assistant training officer Paul Franklin
Treasurer Alan Lyall
Equipment Officer Bruce Taylor
Expeditions Officer Mark Owers
Social Secretary Warwick Price
Marketing Officer Jane Gosling
